Obituary of Donald James Robar
ROBAR, Donald James – Age 82 of North River, passed away on November 12, 2019 at 8 a.m. in the South Shore Regional Hospital. He was a son of the late Lorimer and Viola (Burgoyne) Robar.
Donald worked at several jobs during his younger years before starting at DOT for 23 years, after retiring in 1994. He continued working for a couple years with Ivan Veinotte Trucking.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with the boys. His hobby was carving, which he made several different items. He was always there to tell a few jokes. The nurses really enjoyed the “old lady on the roof”.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Laverne Robar; sons, James (Leisa), Scarsdale; Joseph (Annie), Falkland Ridge; daughter, Trudie (Chris), Cherryfield; brother, Brian (Rose); sisters, Yvonne and Doreen; 5 grandsons; 3 great-granddaughters; 5 great-grandsons; 2 step great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his daughter, Belinda and son, Gerald; brother, Daryl,
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany where a celebration of Donald’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019.
