Obituary of George Lemuel Joudrey

JOUDREY, George Lemuel – Age 82 of Barss Corner, passed away November 19, 2019 in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born in Northwest, he was a son of the late William and Lydia (Zinck) Joudrey Morton.

George worked in the woods for the Mersey in his early years. Later he became a full time Christmas tree producer and long-time member of the Christmas Tree Producer’s Association. His leisure time activities included salmon fishing and hunting. George and Diane loved spending time at Green Bay entertaining family and friends. However, his greatest passion was Christmas trees. There was a time he talked about them non-stop and would provide a shearing lesson anytime, anywhere. George was a member of Cornwall Baptist Church and an adherent of Barss Corner Baptist Church, Barss Corner. Since leaving his home a year ago he resided at Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, Shoreham Village, Chester and recently at Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany.

Surviving are his daughter, Michele (Mitchell) Beck, Barss Corner; Corinne Joudrey (Richard), Barss Corner; son, George (Natalie) Joudrey, Barss Corner; grandchildren, Logan (Megan) Beck, Colton Beck, Holly Joudrey, Owen Joudrey; sister, Shirley (Harold) Tanner, Middle Sackville; sister-in-law, Sue Joudrey; half-sister, Dianne Morton.  

He was predeceased by his wife, Diane Marie (Ramey) Joudrey; sister, Marion Veinotte; brother, Pearlie Joudrey; half brothers, William Joudrey, Harold Joudrey, David Joudrey, Bernard Morton and Stuart Joudrey in infancy.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 21^st in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, #4895 Highway 10, New Germany. Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 in Barss Corner Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Jess officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Rosedale Home for Special Care Van Fund or charity of choice.
