I first met beautiful Dolly, and her parents and sister Greta, when I drove to Peoria, Illinois to attend her marriage to my brother Arthur. Over the next few years I had the pleasure of visiting Art and Dolly, and their children, Gwen and Dag, in their many homes in Canada and in India, where they had gone to work with the Ecumenical Institute for a few years, and then back again in Canada!
Then, in late 1994 I was injured in an accident in Thailand, and when I was able to travel back to Canada, Dolly and Arthur had me live with them for close to a year while I recovered enough from my injuries to be able to again wander and work. They were, in my mind, a beautiful couple, and Dolly was a very patient and understanding partner for Arthur, always supportive of Arts desire to help others, often at their expense, and the expense of a more 'normal way of life"! She will be remembered by me fondly. I hope there is at least one Gordon Lightfoot song
played 'for her/to her' at her funeral!
My love to Greta, Gwen, Dag, Sage and Lyse-Anne ; I hope that will not hesitate to ask, if I can be of help anytime in the future.
Love and peace, Richard
