Obituary of Fred William Silver

SILVER, Frederick William – Age 85 of Bridgewater, formerly of Union Square, left us on December 14, 2019 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. He was a son of the late, Aseph and Hilda (Wagner) Silver.

Fred was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his partner, Virginia Dunn; daughter, Margo Corkum (Bobby), Bonita Dixon (Paul), Maxine Wentzell (Tony); grandchildren, Cheri, Jenn, Jillian, Nicole and Christopher; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; dear friend, John Rose. He was predeceased by his wife, Vivian (Mosher); brother, Ivan; sisters, Buelah and Evelyn.

Fred worked many years at Bowater Mersey. He was an original member of the South Shore Bluegrass Association and an avid camper. He was loved by all who knew him. He was affectionately referred to as a Teddy Bear.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019 both in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Adam Snook officiating. A burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Mount Cavalry Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield, South Shore Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice.
