Obituary of Florence Marie Fisher

Fisher, Florence Marie – Age 89 of Halifax, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, December 17 in Northwood Centre, Halifax. Born in Bridgewater on January 4, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Margaret (Stoddard) Lohnes. Florence is survived by daughter, Joan (Gary) Irving, Hackett’s Cove; son, David (Tammy) Fisher, Halifax; sisters, Betty Meisner, Midville Branch; Margie (Ross) Wentzell, Bridgewater; Gerri (Carrol) Croft, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Jason (Olivia), Hantsport; Melissa (Ali), Head of St. Margaret’s Bay; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Lincoln, Roman; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; sisters, Marjory, Shirley, Jean; brothers, Harold, Warren and Carl. Florence had many fond memories of her time employed as a receptionist for Drs. Raj and Harsh Mishra. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Harsh Mishra for his care and friendship over the years. A special thanks to the staff of Northwood Centre, Halifax for their care during her short stay. Florence had a sharp mind and enjoyed reading and listening to the news. She was fond of bingo, crossword puzzles and loved playing the lottery. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 21 in Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Reverend Willis Ott officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence’s memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
