Obituary of Rosella Marie Anthony

ANTHONY (Burke), Rosella Marie - Age 84 of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully in her sleep into God's hands on December 20, 2019. Born in St. Croix, on October 1, 1935 this extraordinary woman was a daughter of the late Charles and Eula (Marsters) Burke. Marie was active in many community organizations. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 24) and a past member of the Sanctuary Guild, Kingston Guild, and Anglican Church Women's Group of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Windsor and Bridgewater. She was a past President of the Windsor Jaycettes and a past member of Bridgewater Jaycettes. She was also a past member of the Windsor Curling Club and Bridgewater Curling Club. She was involved in a variety of capacities with the Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival over the years. She was also a valued volunteer at the Spring Fling at South Shore Regional Hospital and Hillside Pines Nursing Home, both in Bridgewater. She loved having people around her and her home was always a central gathering place for her multitude of dear friends and family; Marie cared deeply about her friends and family and was constantly surrounded by true loving friends. It was a rare event to have an empty home as she was always hosting her myriad of close friends whom she cared for very much. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Barbara Trenholm and her husband, Brian, of Fredericton, N.B.; her beloved son, Doug Anthony and his wife, Cindy of Russell, Ont.; granddaughter, Kailynn, her husband Dan Clark and great-granddaughter, Sophie of Fredericton, N.B.; and her beloved son, Ken Anthony, his wife, Beverly, and grandsons, Andrew and Michael, of Hubley. Marie is also survived by her sister, Betty McAllister of Burton, N.B. She was predeceased by brothers, Gary Burke, Charles Burke Jr., and Fred Burke; half-brothers, Earl Burke, Bill Burke, and Fred Burke; and half-sisters, Minnie Church, Chris Baker, and Annie Willett. A "Celebration of Life" ceremony, followed by reception, will be convened in the Bridgewater Legion, 78 Churchill St., Bridgewater, NS B4V 1R7 from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 11th.
