Rex Pearl Veinot
83, Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg County, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008 at home. Born in Simpsons Corner, he was a son of the late Clayton and Elvida (Woodworth) Veinot. Rex was a veteran of the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany. Rex served as a trustee for the Hillside Cemetery, Simpsons Corner. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his friend, Vella Ramey, Simpsons Corner; daughter, Jeannie, Ontario; sons, Michael Veinot, Bridgewater; Scott Veinot, Cookville; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Carey, Cora, Ola, Hope in infancy; brothers, Howard, Frank, Robert. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Public graveside service 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hillside Cemetery, Simpsons Corner. Rev. Anna Hoeg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Hillside Cemetery Fund or charity of choice.
