Obituary of Lois Louise Wootten

WOOTTEN (nee Mitchell), Lois Louise – passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth. Lois was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 15, 1938 to W.C.A. “Bill” and Phyllis M. (Taylor) Mitchell. Lois married George A. Wootten of Halifax on December 5, 1963. Through George’s work as an R.CM.P. officer, Lois and George lived throughout both Newfoundland and Saskatchewan, before retiring and relocating to Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Lois leaves to mourn her daughter, Jane; her son, George (Heather); her grandson, George, and numerous other family members and friends. Lois was kind, funny, and caring. Her friends were very important to her and she would want each of you to know that. We are so appreciative for the joy that her relationships with each of you brought to her.

Special thanks to the physicians and nurses at the Dartmouth General Hospital, who took such fine care of our mother in her final days. We will not forget your kindness and compassion. At Lois’s request, there will be neither a visitation nor a funeral service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or Golden Rescue (Canada). Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater where on-line condolences and messages may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
