Obituary of Patricia "Patsy" Irene Robar
Robar, Patricia “Patsy” Irene - Age 77 of Dayspring. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother. Patsy passed peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020.
Patsy was born on February 24th, 1942 in Bridgewater to the late Bill and Mabel Zinck. She was born into a close family in a home where everyone was always welcome to stop by and enjoy a meal. On August 31st, 1962, Patsy married her soulmate, Harry, and they spent 57 wonderful years together before his passing several months ago. Patsy and Harry shared a beautiful life of love and happiness. Together they had two children, Wendy and Artie.
Patsy worked for 25 years at Zellers in Bridgewater where she formed many lifelong friendships with her co-workers and customers. She retired from Zellers for another job that she loved, caring for her grandchildren.
The greatest love in Patsy’s life was her family. She was exceptionally close to her children and was so very proud of her grandchildren Megan, Matthew, and Owen. She took wonderful care of her husband, Harry, and together they shared great memories with both sides of their families.
Patsy was a wonderful, selfless person who lived her life always putting others first. It brought her great joy to care for others and make them happy in their times of need. She was a strong, independent, giving person who raised her children and grandchildren to understand the importance of generosity, compassion, and togetherness. Patsy was the picture of strength and positivity throughout everything in her life. Her resiliency shone brightly during her thirteen-year illness, when she never once complained. She taught us that good things happen to good people, and that positivity shapes the course of life.
Those who loved Patsy will remember her as a truly wonderful person who greatly touched their lives.
Patsy leaves behind her daughter, Wendy (Stephen) Sawler; son, Artie (Claudia) Robar; granddaughter, Megan Sawler; grandsons, Matthew Sawler and Owen Robar. She is survived by siblings, Bobby Zinck, Mary Wile, Jim (Carol) Zinck, June Zinck, Johnny (Sharon) Zinck, Linda (Gerry) MacDonald; siblings in- law, Gerald (Elaine) Robar, Kathryn Wagner, John (Myrna) Robar, David (Linda) Robar, Dianne (Bob) Hillocks, Wayne (Dianne) Robar, Elaine (Phillip) Myra. She was predeceased by siblings, Betty Wile, Billy Zinck, and Mike Zinck.
Patsy’s family would like to extend their gratefulness to Dr. Marier for years of care, to Dr. Gowan, Kim Carlow-Berkeley, and the palliative care team who gave us time, reassurance and unwavering compassion. We would also like to thank the incredible nurses at SSRH for the dedication and love they expressed to Patsy and her family. We are very appreciative of the care she received. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5th from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.
