My Condolences to Richard's family. I was saddened to hear of his passing. What Richard did for the Fabry Community, was admirable! My condolences to Tanya and children over Richard's untimely death. He was a pioneer in the treatment of Fabry disease as he took part in the first enzyme study at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda Maryland USA in 1997-1999 with Dr. Roscoe Brady and Dr. Raffi Schiffmann. He took part in other enzyme studies in Halifax from 2000 to the present. He was enthusiastic about new therapies for Fabry disease and was excited to be a part of these early studies. He created a Fabry disease website to promote information and communication about this condition. Although he struggled with health issues in the last few years which prevented him from taking part, he was still asking to join in new studies of gene therapy for Fabry disease. Richard will be missed by all. It was my honour and privilege to have known him. Dr Michael West, Halifax NS

Tanya, I am so so sorry. My heart aches for you all... He was a lucky man to have someone like you to stand by his side and look after him.
