To Shirley’s family,
We would visit Shirley on our trips to Ryan Hall. She would insist that I pull out one of the rockers as she told me about growing up and her wonderful family. My dog, Ivy, would curl up at her feet and she would reminisce about dogs she had as a child. RIP Shirley.

Shirley was a truly beautiful soul. Wise and filled with unmeasurable wisdom. I will cherish and forever miss our chats, her delicious food, her warm hugs and her beautiful smile. Shirley and Arthur were a second set of parents to me. Forever in my heart.

Russell & Melinda, Donald, Ethel & Jamie, Tom & Families: We are sad to learn of Shirley's passing. We became acquainted with Shirley in the 1960's, when Wayne (a teenager) was elated to be hired by Arthur to help in the Grocery Store in LaHave -- the "Red & White". He and Arthur became great friends, and we can attest to many warm and hospitable visits to their home. Shirley was blessed with an interesting and colorful life, and we are grateful to have been a tiny part of it. We loved hearing her stories. .We also enjoyed her presence at Ryan Hall, when Wayne and his sister shared musical entertainment ---- no-one appreciated it more than Shirley. We will always remember this kind-spirited, special lady. God Bless All. Our Sincere Sympathy & Tender Thoughts. Wayne & Muriel Hiltz

Sometimes it's easy to forget that our parents weren't always our parents; they were silly, young and playful, and beautiful in the way all youth gives. Mom loved to laugh, loud and from the heart; a gift she passed on to me - especially the loud part! I could never fully explain what my Mom means to me, she was always my touch stone, grounding me with the truest love that assured me the best and safest place was home, with her, my best friend in the world, always and forever. I'm glad we were together - as always - to the end. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way...

Such great memories of nanny growing up. We always looked forward to going to see nanny and grampy on the weekends. She had fun stories and a heart of gold. She always had snacks and cookies for us growing twins. Her home was the place to be for all the family get togethers. Lots of laughs and memories to cherish. Love you and miss you nanny.
