Obituary of Meda Gertrude Whynot

of Meda Gertrude Whynot Dies at 103 Of Windsor, Hants Co., and New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Windsor Elms Nursing Home, Windsor. Born November 21, 1904 in New Germany, she was the eldest daughter of the late Isaac and Eldora (Lowe) Tipert. She lived in New Germany for 96 years before moving to Windsor in 2000. For several years Meda was employed as a store clerk; housekeeper and telephone operator, retiring from the telephone company at 75. She was a lifelong member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, where she was actively involved as a member of the former ACW until 2000. Surviving are her son, Donald (Maxine) Whynot, Windsor; grandsons, Michael (Judi) Tipert, Stoney Creek, Ontario; Darren (Lezlie) Whynot, New Germany; granddaughter, Stephanie Fraser, Falmouth; great granddaughters, Melanie and Rachel Tipert; great grandsons, Noah and Nigel Fraser; sisters, Elsie Veinot, New Germany; Margaret Ward, Bridgewater; several nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; son, Malcolm Tipert; daughter in law Annette Tipert; sisters, Amy Meisner, Edith Poole; brothers, Maxwell, Layton and Reginald. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m., Tuesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral service 11 a.m., Wednesday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church. Rev. Anna Hoeg officiating. A private family burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, Windsor Rotary Club, Windsor Elms or charity of choice.
