Obituary of Robert Lester Aulenback
AULENBACK, Robert Lester – Age 90, of Bridgewater, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Albert and Hattie (Hubley) Aulenback. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hazel (Eisnor) Aulenback and brother, Harry Aulenback.
Robert spent his whole entire working years at the former H.W. Brady Limited, Bridgewater until they closed and then continued to work two summers with the Department of Lands and Forests before retiring.
Besides being an avid and active faithful member of the Salvation Army, Bridgewater, in his retirement he could be found splitting wood in the backyard with the wood splitter and piling wood, doing jig saw and word search puzzles and sitting by the window watching the sites go by.
Besides the church, he loved spending time with his family. In his earlier years he enjoyed spending time outdoors with his sons, working on little projects or playing lawn darts with the whole family. In his later years he enjoyed having his family together for dinners and visits.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Aulenback, Bridgewater; sons, Lorraine (Marion) Aulenback, Cookville; Ricky (Donna) Aulenback, Lower Branch. Five grandchildren, Ronald (Bola) Aulenback, Red Deer, Alb.; Sherry (Danny) Aulenback, Bridgewater; Gregory (Ali) Aulenback, Ottawa, Ont.; Kristal (Craig) Patterson, Northfield; Leslie-Anne (Luther) Woodworth, Simpsons Corner; 8 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Mia, Hannah, Colby, Caleb, Dylan and Hannah; brother, Johnny (Louise) Aulenback, Bridgewater.
Funeral will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the Salvation Army, Bridgewater by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions. Public graveside service for all to attend will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Salvation Army Bridgewater, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or Hope for Wildlife.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at South Shore Regional Hospital for their compassion and assistance during Robert’s many stays in the hospital.
