Obituary of Catherine "Cathy" Louise DeMont

Catherine “Cathy” L. DeMont - Age 59. We are sad to announce the passing of Catherine “Cathy” L. DeMont on March 19, 2021 peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital surrounded by family after a strong battle with cancer.

Cathy was born in Lunenburg to the late Curtis Spidle and Betty Fancy (Knickle) of Lower Cornwall. Cathy spent the early years of her marriage doing her favourite job, raising her 2 children. After completing that job, she went on to do her second favourite job at Gold Reserve/Gold Nugget. Cathy's favourite pastime was watching her grandson discover the world and spending time with her family.

Cathy is survived by the love of her life, Wayne DeMont; beautiful daughter, Vanessa McCormack; favourite son in law, Richard McCormack; favourite daughter, Natasha DeMont; and loved beyond words grandson, Curtis McCormack. She is also survived by a sister, Christine Magee; brothers, Steven Spidle and Gregory Spidle; and stepsister, Linda Lowe-Sawler. Cathy will be greatly missed by her lifelong best friend, Polly Wilson.

We want to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at South Shore Regional Hospital for keeping her comfortable until the end.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, however, a celebration of life for Cathy will be held at a later date.
