Katherine Sorenson, you will be missed from the Murray family in the west, it was a shock and sadness to all of us to read your obituary online while attempting contact. As the senior member of the Murray family, Katherine was our spiritual leader with a smile and laughter that we all enjoyed. We have many pictures of the good times we shared and were pleased to have a reunion in 2016 that got most of her Murray Family together. The posted picture is Katherine with her family on the deck of an old cabin built by her grandfather, David Gregg Murray, Sr. for our Great Grandmother Ellen Jane Thomas in 1923. Rest in peace dear Cousin. By the way, we will never forget you anointing all of us with your “Murray’s Superior Hair Dressing Pomade”!!

I had the pleasure of working with Katherine When I was 16 years old at the Inlet Cafe in Mahone Bay. She was such a beautiful and positive woman - caring and meticulous. Thoughts with her friends and family.

A Gideons Banquet several years ago concluded with Katherine and I exchanging addresses and telephone numbers. She and I had quality time visiting, singing hymns, enjoying her fine in-home dining and oat cakes. It was a sweet time. Katherine also arranged for my registration for exercise classes at the Michelin Gym in town. We were the oldest in the class and had a great time fellowshipping at a local restaurant afterwards. I was just back from Ontario and Katherine introduced me to friends of hers and there I felt included and loved. Yes, this unique lady was super in my books. I thank the Lord for bringing her into my life, and enriching it by her enthusiasm, similar interests and beautiful music!! Cherished always, Jean Ann Moores,
Hebbs Cross, N.S.

I will miss you, Katherine! Your smiling face, generous spirit, gentle laugh, and positive gardening attitude at the Hodge Podge Community Garden was a blessing for me as coordinator. I was sad when you gave up your bed this year but so much more sad to hear of your passing this week. You didn't like me to take your photo, but here was your garden bed in 2017: a gorgeous and productive standout every year - not to mention the tallest trellis! You were an inspiration and I will miss seeing you around town and at the garden. Rest in peace.
