Obituary of Cecilia Margaret Haughn

 

HAUGHN, Cecilia Margaret – Age 83 of West LaHave, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was the only child of Cecil McMillan and Myra Idella (Huey) Creaser.

Cecilia was a member of West Side United Church, Pentz where she was organist for 66 years and served on many church committees over the years. She was a member of the Pleasantville and District Fire Department Auxiliary where she was the secretary and treasurer for many years. She was a past president and secretary for the Seabreeze Campground Association as well as assistant treasurer for many years of the West LaHave Cemetery. Cecilia was Post Master of the Pleasantville Post Office for 28 years. She was an avid knitter - one of her passions, she made and donated many knit items to the South Shore Regional Hospital gift shop over many years.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Robert Lloyd Haughn; daughters, Myra Jean Haughn, Bridgewater; Melanie (Kevin) Keddy, West LaHave; son, Cecil (Wanda) Haughn, LaHave; grandchildren, Shawn, Adrian, Amanda, Matthew, Briana, Bradford; great-grandson, Cameron; several nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26 at West Side United Church, Pentz with Rev. Neil McEwen officiating. Interment will follow in West LaHave Cemetery, West LaHave. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to the West Side United Church, Pleasantville and District Fire Department, West LaHave Cemetery or charity of choice.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and Dr. Chaisson for their medical care.
