Obituary of Susan Marie Lake

“There are some who bring a light so great to this world, that even after they are gone the light remains.”

-Unknown

The family of Susan Marie Lake of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia is deeply saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Susan was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. Born November 26, 1949 in Lockeport, Nova Scotia, she was the youngest of five children of the late Roy and Ethel Pyne.

Susan will always be remembered for her true beauty that shone the light of the Heavenly Father’s love. Graceful, fun, kind and tender hearted, her spirit of love, and her heart songs of prayer held her family, and touched all those who God brought into her life every day. The tears in our eyes stand for all the love we want to give back to her, but cannot. But her life taught us to cling to a Hope that will not fail, and it is this unshakable faith that assures us that we will meet her and hold her again.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Suni (Keith) Ferriera of Bridgewater; son, Mahendra Christopher (Nisreen) Ediriweera of Kelowna, British Columbia; daughter, Chemanthi Rochelle (Michael) Kalen of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren, Daniel, Saphia, Emmanuel, and Maria; brother, Roy Pyne; sisters, Shirley Keys, Trudy Cornwell, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Mahen Ediriweera; second husband, Ralph Lake; and sister Marilyn Wilson.
