I was very sad to hear of Reverend Tidd's passing. His devotion to the Lord and his family were very inspiring. The Tidd family was very dear to my late father, Graham Siddall. It was always a special time visiting with the Tidd's at the parsonage in Barrington Passage.
My deepest sympathies to you all.

I will miss Perley’s hugs!
Perley was my mentor during my years of Lay Pastor training, and boy, did I learn a lot from him. He taught me so much about life, preaching, ministry and living for Jesus.
I am grateful for the friendship that he extended to me.
I can’t even start to wonder what this loss feels like.
To Marlene and the family, it’s just plain hard when a loved one is no longer with you; I am so sorry for your loss. Perley was a wonderful man, and as related to me, he loved you all dearly.
Perley loved preaching, singing and worshiping God. And I don’t doubt that that is what he is doing in the presence of the King right now!

Marlene and family: our deep and heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your loved one. Pearly had a long time of service for his Lord and according to the tributes it was a blessing to many as he directed them to the love, grace, mercy and forgiveness that the Lord Jesus freely gives to all who will receive Him as their personal Lord and Saviour. May you feel the arms of the Lord around you, and His peace filling you as you adjust to this new chapter of your lives. In Christian love, John and Marilyn Kaulback.

My condolences to Marlene and their family and friends as you mourn the loss of such a kind dedicated man. He was such a blessing to many here on earth and will carry on in heaven where he will have his place in the choir in Heaven by God's side. May so many wonderful memories of time with him help you through the next weeks of grappling with his loss from your lives.
Doran and Phyliss Corkum were my parents and I met you several times throughout my childhood when we visited you or Aunt Sadie or you visited us. Mom and Dad talked often about you and your family once we had married and had our own families. My prayers are with you as you make this journey. He is at peace in the arms of the Lord.

Marlene, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I know that we haven't kept in touch as we should have but I have loved Pearly for all the years since I was saved in your house in Forest Ontario in the early 70's. As my "Spiritual Father" he was paramount in my coming to Saving Grace that night, so many years ago. My prayers and thoughts go to you and the family, knowing that the Lord will see you through with His strength and the Peace that passes all understanding. God bless you. What a legacy Pearly leaves in his stead, 66 years of serving Christ. I, as I am sure many others do, stand in awe of his service.

Marlene: Just a note from Lynnda and Allan Burr to you and the family. We are both so sorry to hear of Perley's passing. He was such a fine gentleman and Christian. We often do remember Perley, you and the children. Such found memories. Yes it has been some years since we dropped by with Jane and John to your place and even longer since we were in Black's Harbour.
Those years so long ago it seems in Forest when all our children were small are now long gone but the influence and memories of your Christian love and the guidance and preaching of Perley have been important to us all these years. I guess from what I see he had been active up to his passing. It seems like old preachers just keep going on as God calls them. I am in that category now myself. Was have to retired at the end of 2008, but it did not stop us from being a pastor and telling people about Jesus and I see such with Perley. Yes I am still at it and have been doing so twice a week for Burtch Baptist Church (our congregation) since the middle of August. First it was on YouTube and Zoom and since the first of September on YouTube and in person with distancing and masks. I believe Perley instilled that passion for the Lord in me to continue on into our later years giving so someone might come to know our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Well Marlene do know you and the children are in our thoughts and prayers. Blessings and our love.

Dear Marlene and family. It is with heavy hearts that we learned of Perley's passing. But, he didn't just PASS away, he FLEW away into the arms of the Savior he so faithfully and lovingly served. This world sees success in terms of money, accomplishments and fancy earthly possessions, but we know that our Lord only requires that a man be found faithful. Your Perley certainly fit into this faithful category. He touched so many lives during his earthly ministry and only Heaven will reveal how many. Our condolences and prayers are with you and the family. We pray our Lord will keep you through this difficult time and in the days ahead. May our precious Holy Spirit continue to give you His peace that passes all understanding. God Bless you, Marlene. With continuing Christian love and prayers from Pastors Noah & Jessie Lohnes, our church board and the church family at Brooklyn Baptist Church.

There is so much to say about our dear friend and fellow servant. I first met him while he was serving at St. Margarets Bay Baptist and Birchy Head. We visited there in a difficult time for our family and he welcomed us in such a loving way. What I will remember most is the spiritual friendship he cultivated with my father. I'm deeply grateful to God for this and will thank God for every remembrance of Perley. I also remember and reflect on his music ministry. I remember an Association music rally where he sang of his love for his Lord and what a blessing it was for all of us to hear. He was our most senior shepherd in our area. He led by example and with a caring heart. We on the South Shore are deeply blessed to have known him and to experience his deep love of the Lord. On behalf of our churches we extend condolences to the family as they walk these days in loss. May they find comfort in the hope that Perley had and now realizes fully. Your friend and brother in Christ, Rev. Joe Green - Aenon Baptist Church and Western Shore United Baptist Church.

Dear Marlene and family, We are so saddened to hear of the loss of your beloved husband Perley. We, at the Port Mouton United Church are at a loss without his amazing ,in depth , thought provoking sermons that encompassed his passion for serving the Lord. His wit,his stories of his life and the blessings he received from the Lord over the journey of his life is a testimony in itself .
His dedication even in retirement and the strength he drew from the Lord daily to continue in the ministry is astounding. He may have been 87 but in my mind he was a child of God with a bright light that shone in every way.We have been so blessed to call your family our family.Even when the 2 of you were not able to sing together he brought tapes that we enjoyed sooo much and was glad he shared. He even filled in as our organist many times which was a treat.I know he was sooo happy to have his grandson Jonathan come over the summer and was happy to have his granddaughter Melody sing .One of my favorite songs he used to sing was "I'm Drinking From My Saucer...Cause My Cup Overflows"I am so happy that his cup overflowed. He had a true gift to speak to all people he met about how great the Lord had been to him over the course of his life and the many blessings he had received. He wasn't afraid to tell the story of the gospel and would touch on passages that others may not have even looked upon.He would say "I've got to tell you the truth friends because I love you."We also loved hearing how you and Perley met Marlene. You were a great couple and he was all yours.May you continue to hold onto the beautiful memories you've had together and as a family.May you draw on the great comfort of the Lord and the love of your family at this difficult time.We want you all to know that we love you all and are praying for you in the days that lie ahead . If you need to talk we are here for you.We love you all and send our deepest sympathies at this sad time.Linda Williams and the Port Mouton United Baptist Church Port Mouton friends
