Obituary of Renford Owen Best

Renford Owen Best Due to the winter storm the service time has been changed to 2:00 PM Monday 4 January 2010. 90, passed away peacefully on Dec.22, 2009 at South Shore Regional Hospital where he was lovingly cared for by the staff of Medical floor. He was born at Crossburn NS, the son of the late William (Bill) and Ethel (Whynot) Best. Rennie enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and camping and spent many retirement years camping at Annapolis and fishing for bass. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Leila (Whynot); daughter Kathy (Rae) Purdy Pleasantville; son Jim (Carmel) Brookside; 2 grandchildren, Christine (Adam) Meisner; Christopher Best; as well as one great granddaughter, Ava Meisner; one brother, Doug (Lina) London Ont. as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Pearl and Elsie; brothers Everette, Clayton and Franklyn. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, on Saturday Jan.2, 2010 at 2 PM, Rev. Norman Hovland officiating and Debbie Zwicker organist. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital; Bridgewater Baptist Church Building Fund or charity of choice.
