Obituary of Christene Leona Woodworth

Woodworth, Christene Leona – age 65 of Simpsons Corner passed away on Wednesday December 22, 2021 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax.  Born and raised in Simpsons Corner, she was the daughter of late Eugene and Leona (Robar) Hyson.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Phillip Coswell Woodworth (Simpsons Corner); sons Deane (Ashlee) Woodworth (Hebbs Cross); Luther (Leslie Anne) Woodworth (Simpsons Corner); five grandchildren that meant the world to her, Madison, Dylan, Tyler, Hannah and Riley; sister Lillian (Cecil) Veno (Ontario); brothers, Derwin (Dud and Donna) Hyson, (Hemford); Chester (Chet and Connie) Hyson (New Cumberland); many Nieces and Nephews. Christene was predeceased by sister Janice, Brother Loran, and half sister Vivian.

Mom was a hard worker and had many jobs but enjoyed her position at Rosedale Home for Special Care for 37 years, and finally retired in 2021. She gained many friends from which she worked with and cared for. (Friends and families). Mom always tried to keep a smile on her face when caring for residents.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany.  Memorial Service to be held at later date. Donations can be made to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or South Shore Regional Hospital.
