Obituary of Myrtle Kathleen Bolivar

Myrtle Kathleen Bolivar 95, Crousetown, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2009 in Hillside Pines Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where she had been residing. Born in Crousetown, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Lizzie (Crouse) MacLaren. Myrtle was a life-long resident of Crousetown and oldest active member of St. Andrew’s United Church. She was an avid card player, a great supporter of the community and was always willing to help anyone who was in need. She was the last surviving member of the MacLaren family. Surviving are her daughter, Jean (Brian) Johnston, East LaHave; Kathleen (Dale Gorveatt), Chester; Shirley (Toby) Turner, Broad Cove; son, Donald (Carolyn), Petite Riviere; grandchildren, Matthew Turner, Edmonton, Marielle Turner, Wileville; nephew, Robert (Carole) MacLaren, Bridgewater; niece, Beverly MacLaren, Toronto; numerous other nieces and nephews in Canada and U.S. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur; five siblings. No visitation at the funeral home by request. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, in Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere. Rev. Karen Ohrt officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s United Church, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
