Born in North River, Lunenburg Co., on January 16, 1951 to the late Maxwell and Ruby (Robar) Acker. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry in 2019.

Wendy is survived by her daughter, Kristal (Hugh) Skeoch, Manitoba; son, Steven (Connie) Vines, Manitoba; grandsons, Dylan, Colby and Ryan; granddaughter, Chelsey and great grandson, Toby; brothers, Ainsley (Helen) Acker, New Germany; Max Jr. (Janice) Acker, Bedford, Braimer Acker, Saskatoon; Hallett (Charlotte) Acker, New Germany; Lindsay (Sherry) Acker, Watford; sisters, LaVerne Robar, North River; Cheryl (Ron) Langille, Bridgewater; Judy Aulenback, Falkland Ridge; Carolyn (Lester) Daniels, Bridgewater; Peggy Eisnor, Bridgewater; Charlene Hamm, Digby; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

Wendy worked at various jobs over the years from being a waitress, cleaner and a live-in companion. Wendy had a passion for painting and was very good at creating many beautiful pictures over the years. She could always find a use for everything and did not believe in waste; she would take old items and restore them. She loved spending quality time with family and friends and was always willing to help in any way she could in her community or her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who love her, but her job here on earth is done.

The family would like to thank all the staff, nurses, care givers and doctors who gave Wendy such wonderful care at the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre.

A graveside service will be held 11a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, North River, where Wendy will be placed with her predeceased husband, Harry. Members of the public are asked to bring lawn chairs if they wish to sit during the service. No visitation at the funeral home by request.
