Obituary of Joanne Louise Sonnichsen
Sonnichsen, Joanne Louise (Knudsen) – Age 60 of Cherry Hill, passed away May 7, 2022, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Sudbury, Ontario on September 4, 1961, she was the daughter of James and Daisy Sonnichsen of Bridgewater. Joanne is survived by her mother, Daisy Sonnichsen, Cherryhill; father, James Sonnichsen, Bridgewater; husband, Robert Demerchant; son, Carl Knudsen (Kristina Henry); brothers, Wendell Sonnichsen, Wade Sonnichsen, and David Sonnichsen; stepchildren, Bobby James, Tracy, Crystal, Erik and Laurie; grandchildren, Madison, Miya, Maidyn and Robie; many nieces and nephews.
Joanne enjoyed going to yard sales and scratching lottery tickets. She took many trips with her husband, Robert, one of her favorites being the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. In recent years, Joanne liked to paint and do other forms of artwork. Above all she was devoted to her family and took care of the household. Her favorite song was “Welcome to My World”.
A reception in celebration of Joanne`s life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 2 p.m. in Sweeny`s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater . Donations in Joannes’ memory may be made to The Lodge that Gives, Halifax.
