Obituary of Dan Richard Veno

VENO, Dan Richard – Age 88, Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, with his wife by his side. Born in Union Square on November 25, 1933, he was a son of the late Perry and Nellie (Veno) Veno.

Dan was an adherent to the Anglican Church, formerly St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Union Square. He was a retired employee of Atlantic Wholesalers, working for many years. After retirement Dan’s hobby became that of a hobby farm, enjoying his oxen; his first pair named Moe and Joe; Dan was an animal lover. He always enjoyed attending exhibitions and ox pulls.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Sonia Elaine (Veinot) Veno, Simpsons Corner; sisters-in-law, Sandra MacQuarrie, Betty Veno; many nieces and nephews; sister, Rosaline Smith. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Kathleen (Ralph) Carver; brother, Albert Veno and three brothers in infancy.

No visitation at the funeral home by request. A public graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 in Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Barss Corner. Rev. Catherine Robar officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Hemford and District Fire Department, Hemford Community Cemetery or charity of choice.
