Obituary of Bertha Elizabeth Bolivar
Bertha Elizabeth Bolivar (Kirkpatrick) - Age 87, died peacefully at her home on June 5, 2022. Loving wife of Edgar Bolivar Jr. (Junior), Mom to Deborah Silver, Peggy Maughan (Brian), Danny Bollivar (Karen), Tracey Woodworth. Nanny to Eva Silver (Andrew), Erin Zinck (Kyle ), Beckie Veinotte (Jeff), Ashley Cruickshank (Chris), Katelynn Maughan (Blake), Melissa MacLeod (Murray), Emma Risser (Paul), Luke Woodworth (Sydney), Jared Woodworth (Jamie) Great Nanny to James and Joshua Button, Aidan and Elliott Zinck, Avery and Addalay Veinotte, Claire and Stetson MacLeod, George, Piper and Emmett Risser. Sister to Beatrice DeRoche, Douglas Kirkpatrick (Ruby), Bill Kirkpatrick (Maria), Darlene Blackadar. Also leaves behind special companion, Patty Cat and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, sister Lillian Coates, great granddaughter Freya May Veinotte and son-in-law D'Arcy Silver.
Bertha was born in East Leicester, Cumberland County on December 28, 1934 to Alice and Percy Kirkpatrick. After her schooling she went on to teach in a one room schoolhouse. She met her lifelong partner at a social at her community hall when he successfully bid on her box lunch, shared the lunch with her and the rest is history. She married Junior on October 8, 1954, moved to Branch La Have and raised their family, provided childcare for many children and opened her home for those who needed a place to stay. When all her children were settled in school, Bertha joined the work force, trying out various jobs until she found a position at Rofihe's Men's Wear where she worked for many years and was treated like family.
She was an accomplished seamstress, craftswoman and many of her family display tole painted items she made for them. Bertha worked tirelessly in her flower gardens and a visit in the spring always included a tour of her gardens. She will be missed by many and forever loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022 in the Branch LaHave Community Hall. Memorial donations may be made to SHAID Animal Shelter, Hillside Cemetery, Branch LaHave, Rosedale Home for Special Care or a charity of choice.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Thibodeau for his support and guidance throughout Mom's illness. To our Home Support workers, who helped care for Mom over the last three years and Flora who helped us through the last few months, we couldn't have kept Mom home with Dad and her family without your support.
