Obituary of Muriel Emma Jodrey

JODREY, Muriel Emma “Kitty” – Age 90, formerly of Watford, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg, where she resided for two years. Born in Aspen, Guysborough Co., on March 26, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Muriel (Tratt) Croft.

In 1932 when she was three years old the family moved back to their home in Buckfield and grew up with eight other siblings. In 1950 she met and married Philip and lived in his family home in Watford and raised their family. Dad passed away in 2006 at the age of 80 and Mom continued to live another 14 years in her home, until dementia made it unsafe to live alone, then the staff of Harbour View Haven became her new family.

Mom will be lovingly missed by daughter, Ronna Meisner (Aubrey); granddaughters, Denette Meisner (Mason); Natalie (Joe) Sawler; grandsons, Sean and Philip Jodrey both of Vancouver Island; great-grandsons, Matthew and William Sawler both of Pinehurst; brother, Wilfred Croft; sister, Ruth Uhlman; sisters-in-law, Doreen Croft, Brenda Croft and Patsy Jodrey.

Besides her parents and husband Philip, she was predeceased by her son, Errol Jodrey (2017) at the age of 65; brothers, Basil, Edward, Murray and Douglas; sisters, Ruby Lohnes and Margaret in infancy.

Mom was a quiet, kind person, always thinking of others first. Family meant everything, always enjoying big family occasions and lots of food. Kitty liked country music, lexicon, soaps, community events, and shopping trips to see her “mall friends”. Kitty loved visiting her granddaughters and great grandsons, who were very much loved by her. We will always have fond memories of Mom.

By request there will be no visitation or flowers. A private committal will take place at the Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Barss Corner. Donations in her memory may be made to Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Barss Corner Community Cemetery or a charity of choice.

Arrangements entrust to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany where on-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
