Obituary of Susan Dianne Levy
LEVY, Susan Dianne – Age 70 of Laconia, N.S., passed away September 3, 2022, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. She was the daughter of the late, Franklyn and June (Slauenwhite) Veinotte, of Blockhouse.
Susan is survived by her best friend and soulmate, James Wile, of Laconia; sisters, Debra (Darrell) Dorey, Cathy (Norman Veinott) Lohnes; brother, Peter Veinotte; step-daughters, Dawn (Scott) Feener and Jamie Wile; step-grandchildren, Jessalyn and Madison Feener; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Christopher Levy.
Many friends were made while working at Hy’s of Canada, in Vancouver, B.C., and 30 years at Michelin Tire, Bridgewater. Her infectious laugh and smile will be remembered by all who knew her. Family and friend reunions with lots of food and fun were always a treat to those that attended her home. Many hours of labour were spent in her flower and vegetable gardens, which gave her great pleasure and enjoyment. Reading was her relaxing time. Susan enjoyed camping and going for drives. she travelled across Canada, from coast to coast, and also some of the U.S. After retirement, genealogy became part of her life as it filled her with excitement and gave her great pleasure to branch out on the family tree.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Susan during a public visitation on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, in C.F. Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A short, public viewing will be held at 12 noon, the following day, Thursday, September 8, 2022, before the funeral service that will begin at 1:00 p.m. that day to celebrate her life, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, with Rev. Willis Ott officiating. A private family burial will be held following the service at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations from the public may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
