David Leroy Colp
61, Lower Sackville, passed away on September 2, 2009. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of Elsie (Colp) Colp and the late Harris Colp, Colpton. Shortly after graduation from New Germany High School, David began his career as a customs broker working for Border Brokers and then later for Livingston International, from which he retired in 1990. His many talents included being able to drive anything that had wheels and a good working knowledge of automotive and household repairs. He enjoyed fly tying, camping, curling, and a good game of auction 45's or crib. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda (Bolivar), Lakeside, daughter Amanda (Greg), Timberlea, and son Ryan (Beckie), Clayton Park; brother, Mervyn (Lorraine), Newcombville; sisters, Betty Anne (Larry), Fredericton, and Annette (Ken), Lower Sackville, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Cremation and internment has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 7 at 11 a.m. at Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, with Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Flowers from immediate family only, please. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, which held a special place in David's heart, or charity of choice.
