Obituary of Patricia Ruth Bennett


BENNETT, Patricia Ruth – Age 71, Halifax, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the Q.E. II Health Science Centre – Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Toronto, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Poulson) Paterson.

Patricia moved to New Germany, Nova Scotia in 1986 with her husband and their four (4) children from Hamilton, Ontario where she and her loving husband raised their children. Patricia then moved to Halifax in 2006 after the death of her husband Tom to be closer to her youngest daughter (Kaitlin), where she resided until her passing. She was a zealous member of the Jehovah's Witness community for her entire life up until her passing. 

Surviving are her children, David (Diana) Bennett, Victoria, BC; Jennifer (Julian) Boyd, White Rock, BC; Kaitlin (Gordon) Smith, Halifax; Meaghan Bennett, Dunedin, New Zealand; sister, Anne Mouzas, Windsor, Ont.; brother, David Paterson, Milton, Ont.; grandchildren, Justin, Ian, Hailey, Peter, Emerald, Claire, Liam, Cierra, Tommy and Allegra; great grandchildren, Jessie and Axl.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas James Bennett in 2006, brother, Joseph Paterson.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, #210 Parkland Drive, Halifax. Due to COVID-19 the family has requested that if showing any cold or flu symptoms, please feel free to join on Zoom. Zoom credentials are available upon request.

The family of Patricia "Pat" would like to take this time to thank everyone who has supported them through this difficult time. We would also like to thank the Halifax Emergency Response team for the loving care and dignity they showed towards our dear mother during the early morning hours of November 13,2022.
