It was with great shock and sadness that I heard of Wendy's passing! In our very early years of teaching at Mahone Bay School, Wendy and I were great friends spending more time at the Pirates Lure in Western Shore with more good friends like Dan Cress. How fun those days were with Wendy always laughing and telling the best of stories and keeping us all out way, way too late!
Peter, and family, I am truly sorry for the loss of such a warm and loving and kind human being!
Sincerely,
Stewart Amos Denver, Co

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Wendy. I still remember the time Wendy sang the song "Let it be" (John Lennon) at karaoke. It was at a Michelin gathering we had many years ago. I loved it. To this day, I cant help but think of Wendy every time I hear that song played.
Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Peter, Simon, Stephanie, and Samantha and families,
Words cannot adequately express my feelings when Peter called with the sad news of Wendy's passing. I first met her as a student in Grade 12 at Mahone Bay CHS when she accompanied our school group on an European tour. Our next encounter came through her association through Bridgewater United Church, which I began attending in 1975. Music was her life and she absolutely exuded it from her very core. We were blessed to have her as our organist and choir director for so many years. Rest in peace, fellow teacher, musician, neighbour, and friend. You have earned your heavenly wings and will be missed by all.

So very sorry to hear of Wendy's passing. I first met Wendy when she offered music for the Morningside Worship at Berwick Camp and she was very welcoming that first year I travelled from Ontario out East to attend Berwick Camp. We enjoyed some games of cribbage together and just this past year had so much fun entering a team into the Berwick Camp Trivia Contest. She was a very giving person. Around the breakfast table she often shared stories of you Peter and of the kids and what they were up to. She will be dearly missed by all her camp friends. Heartfelt condolences to you and the kids and your family.

I am so heartbroken to hear this. It doesn’t seem possible and my heart goes out to Peter and their children and grandchildren, and to Sandra and Tommy. When I think of Wendy I especially remember the Mills, Dempsey and Boyd families on vacation together, the kids making up “concerts” for the adults, and hearing the laughter of the adults telling their stories and enjoying life away from their church responsibilities. I remember Wendy’s singing in particular, such a beautiful voice especially for a little girl. I remember she always had a smile and she was so well loved by her parents. We connected after many decades about a year ago and I was struck by how she was just the same as I had remembered her, easy to laugh and with music and family the centre of her being. Rest in peace dear Wendy.

I was so saddened to hear of Wendy’s passing. Wendy was such a kind, humble, giving person, so devoted as a mother, choir director and music teacher. Wendy loved songwriting and composed many wonderful songs. Although I haven’t seen Wendy in the past couple of years, she will always be remembered as a special person who gave her all in everything she did.

I am so sorry to hear of Wendy's sudden passing. Wendy was a big part of my growing up, and it was she who first had me sing solos in church, later in cantatas and encouraged me in my piano and organ playing. She was very supportive of my call to ministry as well. I will miss her smile, hugs and gushing reports about her family. When I sing "O Holy Night" at church on Christmas Eve I will be thinking of her with fondness and gratitude. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you Peter, Simon, Stephanie, Samantha and all your family. May the God whom she loved and served, comfort you, stregthen you and give you peace.

I am so saddened to hear of Wendy's passing. My family had many connections with Wendy - mostly through music circles. I first met Wendy when she competed in the Bridgewater music festival. She was the same age as my oldest sister (Kay) and they were in "fierce competition" in several classes. In later years, I became a colleague of Wendy's as we were both elementary music teachers in NS public school classrooms. We met often at provincial conference day and we always enjoyed catching up on the news and maintaining contact as fellow "South Shore girls". I know how much Wendy valued the contact she had with her students. She also connected with my youngest sister, Debbie through choir events at Bridgewater Baptist Church. The influence that she had through her music is far-reaching and I know she touched many lives. I send my condolences to all the members of your family in your loss. Donna Rhodenizer
