Obituary of Maxine Marilyn Simpson

 

SIMPSON, Maxine Marilyn – Age 73, formerly of Stanley Section, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Queen’s Manor, Liverpool, where she has been residing with her husband, Vonnie. Born October 12, 1949, she was a daughter of the late William Clifford and Grace Margaret (Veinot) Colp.

Maxine could be described as a beautiful and kind lady. Besides her husband, Vonnie, she enjoyed many things in life. Company was met at the door with a smile and the coffee, and teapots were started. As Maxine also baked regularly, a homemade sweet followed as well. Time spent in her garden filled Maxine's summer days and she spent many hours late into the evening under the carport with family and friends, snipping beans and shelling peas. Maxine's past times were going for drives, and she made sure you stopped at every yard sale, she had a very good eye for antiques. Best of all, she loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Vonnie William Simpson, Queen’s Manor, Liverpool; daughter, Kimberly Simpson, Bridgewater; grandson, Matthew (Amanda) Weagle, Stanley Section; great-grandchildren, Grayson Weagle and Abigail Weagle, both of Stanley Section; sister, Louise (Rod) Hall, Bridgewater; Debbie (David) Schnare, Nineveh; sister-in-law, Judi Colp; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Tracy Simpson; brothers, Barry Colp and Ricky Colp.

By personal request, there will be no visitation or service held. No flowers please, donations may be made to Queen’s Manor, Liverpool, Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
