I met Hilda when I was a student working at Hillside Pines during Covid lockdown. Hilda was one of my favourite residents to visit and she was one of the first people I’d say hello to when I walked in the door. Hilda was so kind and I enjoyed sitting and chatting with her everyday. We loved to go through her jewelry and I remember always curling her hair for her as she loved to be dolled up. Hilda was the sweetest woman and I’m so thankful to have met such an amazing and loving resident. I will forever be grateful for our talks and visits, and how she always made my days brighter. Rest easy Hilda.

There are people you meet in your life that leave an impression and don’t even know it. I don’t know how to express exactly what that was about Hilda but believe it was probably her sense of style (which her picture here shows she did not lose apparently as she aged) and her kind and smiling ways. I would have only seen her at community events like fire hall suppers,
maybe ladies auxiliary events like rock a thons and probably some church events too. And going to her house to sell Girl Guide cookies. When mom and dad (Anne Louise and Lester) told me of her passing I could recall her image in my mind. Happy memories which I’m sure the family has many as well. My deepest condolences to all her family.

My deepest condolences to you all. Very sad to hear of Hilda’s passing . I love this picture of her with her beautiful colors and red lipstick . We have spoke of her often over the years, especially when pies and auction are mentioned in the same sentence . She and Leander were good friends to our family. Take care .

So sorry to hear of Hilda's passing. I chatted with her at Hillside Pines a
number of times while there for church services pre-covid. She was always
jolly and loved to chat with us afterwards. My deepest sympathy to Betty, Greg,
and all of Hilda's family.

So very sorry to hear of Hilda's passing. Had a lot of good times with Hilda and Leander over the years. Hilda loved going to the dances and always had a smile and laugh. She is now flying with the Angels. May she rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy to all the family
