Obituary of Martha Ann Zwicker

Martha Ann Zwicker (Bishop) Age 80, of Blockhouse (formerly of St. Jacques, NL)

It is with broken hearts the family announces her passing on June 21^st, 2023, she passed away peacefully at home with family by her side.

Born in English Harbour West, NL on January 4, 1943. She lived in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia through out her life. She came to Nova Scotia at the age of 17 to work in a Boarding home, in Lunenburg. She later worked as a PCW, at The Mahone Nursing home, which she enjoyed very much. She used to Bowl in a league and also played on a Softball team with her 3 daughters. She loved to knit and crochet and her biggest enjoyment in the last 10 years was attending music jams and singing with her friends. A lot of those jams, she was accompanied by her Granddaughters Tori and Teanna.

Martha Ann is survived by her loving husband, Roger of 53 years; her four children, Son Maxwell (Suzie) Daughters; Christina, Carolyn (Jake), Rochelle (Chris), Nova Scotia. Half Brothers; Fred, Fortune NL, Dave, Marystown, NL, Eric, Ontario. Half sisters; Emily, Harbour Breton NL, Marion Strowbridge (Gordon), Harbour Breton NL, Barbara (Ken Harris) Hermitage NL, Sister-In-Law Bessie Savoury, Harbour Breton NL.  11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grand children. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Also, many nieces and nephews

Predeceased by biological parents William (Chess) Bishop, Margaret Clarke Bishop English Harbour West NL. Adoptive Parents Charlie & Martha Bishop, St Jacques NL. First husband Max Poole, Brothers; Eric Lace, Charles Savoury, Harbour Breton NL. Stepbrother: Frank Bishop, Harbour Breton NL.

Funeral service to be held Monday June 26, 2023, at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, NS at 2pm. Interment to follow at Park Cemetery, Kinburn Street, Mahone Bay. NS
