Thank you for all your heartfelt condolences. My name is Bernadine Clifford (nee Hatcher), Patricia's neice and my mother is Marlene Hatcher (nee Mason). We currently reside in Ottawa and I visit daily with my mom at the Long Term Care residence.
My mom and I were saddened by the sudden death of her brother last year, Lamonte Mason and now with Patricia's passing. We corresponded monthly with Patricia and I recently told her of my plans to travel to Nova Scotia from Aug 1 to 8. I walked over to her residence and found out that Patricia passed away on Friday, July 21. I was heartbroken as I was looking forward to spending time with her and taking pictures to share with my mom.
I shared the news of Patricia's passing with my mom on my return to Ottawa. We have fond memories of Patricia and will miss writing to her regularly.
Sharing pics of my mom and Patricia with her parents and Pat and Doug.I was Patricia's flower girl at her wedding and my uncle Monty was the ring bearer. I still have the green velvet headbands that my mother and I wore. Patricia was the matron of honour at my mother's wedding. Mom and I had lunch with Patricia years ago.

My husband and I were saddened to learn of Pat's passing from a friend. She and I have been friends since the early seventies when we nursed together in Lunenburg. Pat was so helpful, always cheerful and ready for a giggle, she had a wonderful sense of humour! She enjoyed her nursing career and always had time for a chat with the guests and staff!
She introduced our husband's and we all became friends, spending some enjoyable times together, dining out and seeing the sights! As our children came along, both Pat and Doug delighted in visiting with us, gently teasing and spending time with our girls as they grew up! They were always interested in all the goings on in our family and how everybody was doing. We could and did spend hours chatting on the phone, about everything and nothing!! We didn't always get to visit as often as we used to but when we did meet up, it was like old home week, catching up, sharing our news, laughing and just generally enjoying our friendship, over a hot drink! I will miss our chats, watching her paint (she was a very talented artist) and our visits were never long enough to solve the world's problems but we tried. Thank you, Pat for all the time, we spent together and being a wonderfully dear friend to me, my husband and our family, you will be missed.

We were friends with Pat and Doug for almost sixty years, starting when we lived on the same street in Dartmouth. It was a wonderful friendship that continued when they moved to Bridgewater, involving visits to each other's homes, meeting at our cabin in South Brookfield, and more. They were special friends. Pat was a faithful friend, never forgetting a birthday or other special occasion. I will miss her very much. Rest in peace, dear friend. Condolences to family and friends.

I knew Pat and Doug for many years. I first met them at Beck frames (my brother's shop) and did picture framing for them. Then doing their income tax returns which allowed me to have a yearly visit from Pat and catch up on news. My condolences to the family. She will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Pat's family and many friends. Pat and I have been great friends for 50 + years. We chatted on a regular basis and I saw her once or twice a week while dropping off items that she needed. Pat was maid of honor at my wedding and I valued her opinion on various issues over the years.
Pat was so considerate to everyone she knew and prayed for everyone on a regular basis whether she new them or not. She sent cards to all of her friends for every occasion and made sure they all knew how much she valued their friendships.
Pre-Covid Pat would treat all of us to dinners out at various locations. Pat decided just before Covid that she was giving up her car and driver's license. She had friends who were only too happy to take her for appointments and pick up items she required. Her mobility and constant pain made it more difficult to get around and in and out of cars.
Pat you were one of a kind, with a heart of gold, and will be missed by all who knew and loved you. Until we meet again dear friend, I will cherish many wonderful memories!
Love, Bev.

I was shocked to learn of Pat's passing. She was always so happy to see me and my sister, Christine, and my two children, and interested to learn what we were doing. I will remember her as a witty, happy, and caring person. I will miss her.

My mother, Maxine Davies of Martins Brook, was Pat's first cousin. Over the years, Pat and I maintained a correspondence of birthday and Christmas cards - and she always enjoyed my Christmas "newsletters." She told me she read them over and over, as I packed so many stories and photos into them! When she'd come across an article about Newfoundland and Labrador in the newspaper, she'd invariably clip it and send it to me. She was kind, generous, and interested in what members of her extended family were doing. A trip to Nova Scotia to visit my parents invariably included a visit with Pat and Doug, and after Doug's death, with Pat alone, for a meal and lively conversation. She had the most wonderful laugh! With the pandemic, these interactions were limited to telephone chats. She and my mother checked in on each other regularly. In fact, it was only when my mother couldn't reach Pat last week that today we learned of her passing. We are so saddened by the loss. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.
