Obituary of Lois Alma Tufts
TUFTS, Lois Alma (Oickle) – Age 89, formerly of Lake Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where she has been residing.
She was born April 9, 1934 in East Dalhousie, to the late William an Idella (Lohnes) Oickle.
Surviving is her son, Eugene, Lake Pleasant; Kenneth (Joan) Falkland Ridge; granddaughter, Tiffany McLeod (Joey Oickle), Port Medway; great-grandsons, Damian Robar, and Hunter Oickle, both of Port Medway; sisters, Mary Legge, East Dalhousie; Ida Zinck, Lake Pleasant; Arlene Oickle and Nellie Benjamin, both of Berwick; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Parker Tufts; brother, Albert Oickle and half-sister, Lily, in infancy.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank-you and debt of gratitude to the staff at Rosedale Home, New Germany for their care and compassion shown to Lois.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, August 4, 2023, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany, Pastor Sam Jess officiating. A private family interment will be held following the service in the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
