Obituary of Christine Marie Wentzell
WENTZELL, Christine Marie, RN – Age 51, Simms Settlement, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 26, 2023 in Halifax, NS. Christine was born October 30, 1971, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia to Calvin and Ellen (Moore) Wentzell, Maplewood.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Grace and Robyn, both of Halifax; partner, Scott Foster (Keegan and MacKenzie) all of Simms Settlement; parents Calvin and Ellen; sister, Andrea Reeves (David, nephews Samuel and Jacob) all of Barss Corner; great niece, Sierra Reeves of New Ross; brother, Jamie Wentzell (Gaynor, nieces Anna and Lindsay, nephew Owen) all of Welland, ON; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Christine graduated from Dalhousie University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1995 and expressed her deep care and compassion in the community by working as a dedicated family practice nurse in Hubbards through Nova Scotia Health. With her extra time, Christine enjoyed visiting Maplewood and being with her parents and family, which also allowed her beloved boxers Jasper and Ruger to run and enjoy the homestead property. She had a profound passion for hockey, having been a proud founding member of the Chester She-Devils hockey club, also serving as team captain, manager and treasurer. She loved to spend time at “the camp” with Scott and accompanying him on road trips to music concerts and stock car races throughout the Maritimes and New England. She also enjoyed hiking and paddle-boarding expeditions with her friends. Above all else, she loved spending time with her daughters, going for long drives, listening to music, and trying new coffee shops.
