Obituary of Sharon H. Dorey
Sharon Hazel Dorey
60, of Branch LaHave Lunenburg County passed away peacefully after a determined and courageous battle with cancer in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Doyle and Dorothy (Rhodenhiser) Meisner. Sharon was very active in her community as a volunteer with the Oak Hill and District Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Branch LaHave Community Hall and a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors along with being in the kitchen making pies, pickles and meals for others which gave her great pleasure. Sharon’s family was her love and joy. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. We will never forget her love of living, smile on her face, her amazing attitude and her philosophy of life “Get R Done” She is survived by her husband Robert; daughter Christina Dorey (Chris Penney), Eastern Passage; son Edward Dorey (Rachel Crosby), Halifax; sisters Margaret Anne Meisner, Dayspring; Janet Lynn Meisner, Branch LaHave; brother Paul (Donna) Meisner, Camperdown and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, 19 March in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Branch LaHave at a later date. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, the Branch LaHave Community Hall or to fight ovarian cancer. The family would like to extend thanks to everyone who helped during her battle with cancer and especially Dr. Carmen O’Neil who showed great compassion, care and professionalism to her and the family.
