FORSYTHE, Gary Roy – Age 77, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia

 

Gary Roy Forsythe, a beloved figure in Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Roy Forsythe and Margerie Forsythe.

Gary dedicated his professional life to enriching the lives of students, serving diligently in Student Services and in an administrative capacity at the Nova Scotia Community College – Lunenburg Campus, Bridgewater. Beyond his career, Gary was a man of passions. His heart belonged to the sea, where he cultivated deep friendships while sailing waters around the world. Golfing was his second love, and he found joy in every swing. Gary was deeply ingrained in the amateur hockey community of Lunenburg County, leaving a lasting impact on the sport.

With his beloved wife, Sandra Lorraine (nee Knickle), by his side for 55 years, Gary explored the world. Their adventures took them across the United States and abroad, creating indelible memories along the way. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Kari-Anne Forsythe, of Oakville, Ontario, along with her husband, Peter Glazier, and children, Logan Glazier and Ayden Glazier; his sister, Mary-Lou Wendland, of Toronto, and her husband, Ken Wendland; and brother Doug Forsythe, of Chester, Nova Scotia, and his wife Marsha Forsythe, and children, Stephanie Forsythe and Jonathan Forsythe; sister-in-laws, Karen (Ed) Cramm, and Krisanne Knickle.

A Celebration of Life honoring Gary's remarkable journey will be held later in the summer. Interment will be conducted at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, at that time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
