Obituary of Gary Allen Wagner

Wagner, Gary Allen- Age 79 of Branch LaHave, passed away surrounded by loved ones on May 25, 2024, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Gary was born in Bridgewater on May 16th, 1945. Son of the late Oran and Thelma (Foley) Wagner. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosalee. Proud father to Terry Wagner (Catherine) and Tina Wagner (Jeremy Chipper). Loving Grandfather to Gary and Sally Wagner, Zachary, and Molly Chipper. Gary shared a very special bond with all his siblings. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Sherry Wamboldt and is now reunited with his predeceased siblings, Frances Wentzell, Pauline Cook, Keith “Sonny” Wagner, Boyd Wagner, Beverly Wagner, and Ronald Wagner. He will forever be remembered by his mother-in-law Barbara Lohnes, extended family, and friends.

Gary retired in 2009 from South Shore Sand and Gravel. He spent his retirement days always on the go. Those who knew Gary, enjoyed his playful sense of humour, his tender heart and willingness to always help others. Even during his last moments, he was committed to making those around him smile. The family would like to thank all the staff at the South Shore Regional Hospital Emergency Department for the exceptional care and tenderness they shared at such a difficult time. Additional thanks are extended to the Palliative Care team for the comfort and support they provided.

Graveside tribute service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1 in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
