Obituary of Bernadette "Dett" Babs Crouse

CROUSE, Bernadette "Dett" Babs - Age 60, of Bridgewater. It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Bernadette Robar-Crouse on July 22, 2024, at South Shore Regional Hospital, with her devoted husband by her side. Bernadette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

She was the daughter of Shirley Acker-Robar and the late Bernard Robar. Bernadette is survived by her best friend and husband, Ted Crouse; son, Dennis (Eric) O’Niel-Wood; daughter, Jackie Robar; her cherished grandchildren, Kadence (Ratface), Brelynn (Stinker), and Axel (Crank); mother, Shirley Acker-Robar; sister, Glenda (Phil) Robar; brothers, Beven (Dorothy) Robar, and Dale Robar; niece, Krista; nephews, Stephen, Jeffery, Dexter, and Austin. She is predeceased by her father Bernard Robar, and nephew Johnathan.

Dett was a strong, independent, hard-working woman all her life. She took pride in making everyone happy. She always put everyone else first. She loved cooking and baking for everyone, and you never left without a full belly. She was very competitive at any game and would give her opponent a good chuckle. Dett loved and cherished all her children and grandchildren – they were the light of her life.

She lost her battle with lung cancer that she fought for several months. She went through her treatments with dignity and strength with her loving husband, sister, and brother-in-law at her side. The family is so grateful that Dett found the love of her life, who has shown so much love, compassion, and dedication throughout her journey. She was overwhelmed with all the emotional and financial support she received from her family, friends, and community. Which she found hard but appreciated very much.

The family would like to thank all her specialists and doctors who had treated her these last few months. A very special thank you to Dr. D’entremont, the compassion she gave to Dette and her family was above and beyond words we could express.

Dette had a motto “We got this together”, which gave her the strength to keep fighting.

She will be truly missed; we love you to the moon and back.

There will be no visitation or service by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where online condolences may be left at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
