Obituary of Marie Margaret Dupuis

Marie Margaret (Sawler) Dupuis of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully in her sleep after celebrating her 85th birthday surrounded by her family. Born in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, she was predeceased by her mother Mary Margaret (Marge) Fredericks, father Walter Sawler, stepfather Owen Fredericks, and her brother Robert (Bobby) Fredericks.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Barry Maxime Dupuis; her daughter, Deborah McGinnis-Learmonth (Richard) and son, Barry Dupuis (Jill); and her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer McGinnis Tang, Micaela Learmonth, and great-grandchildren, Immarah, Emeryson, and Ilyanna. She also leaves behind her nieces Amanda, Jessica, and nephew Robert, along with their families.

Marie’s greatest joy and love were her family. She cherished phone calls from her relatives in Sarnia, finding delight in stories about the kids and pets, which always brought her laughter. She had the best laugh. A true animal lover, she rescued and cared for many animals throughout her life.

Marie will remain in our hearts forever. Her ashes will be interred in a niche at the Brookside Cemetery Columbarium, Bridgewater, where she will rest peacefully, surrounded by the beauty of the place she called home.
