Obituary of Gary Earl MacKay

 

MacKay, Gary Earl - Age 73, Camperdown, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater on June 15, 1951, he was the son of the late Laurie Freeman and Muriel Ceretha (Wyle) MacKay, formerly of New Canada. He was the loving husband to his late wife of 44 years, Dianne Elaine (Naugler) MacKay, formerly of Camperdown. 

 

Gary spent most of his years working as a quality control inspector at Canexel and later retired to spend more time at home with family. He enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes on his free time as well as spending time with family when he wasn’t taking care of chores around the property, and loved to eat baked homemade goods as often as he could. 

Gary is survived by his beloved daughter, Natasha Muriel MacKay, Camperdown; brothers, Garnet (Wendy) MacKay, Ontario; Graham (Wendy) MacKay, New Canada; Garth (Theresa) MacKay, New Canada; sisters, Gladys (Brian) Weagle, Porters Lake; Gail (Bill) Cross, New Canada; and his 16 nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family. 

 

Arrangements entrusted with Sweeny's Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Monday August 26, 2024. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in Christ Lutheran Church, Camperdown, Rev. Willis Ott officiating.
