Nineteen years ago, we purchased Carl’s brother’s house and were instantly blessed with the most wonderful and caring neighbours who would quickly become dear friends. Freda’s love of cooking and baking extended beyond the walls of her beloved kitchen—and we were the recipients of many of her delicious creations.
From shouting short greetings across the lawn to spending hours sitting and talking in our back or front yards, we are grateful for the many years of time spent together. We will hold these memories close and know that they will bring smiles to our faces any time Freda crosses our minds.
Sending our deepest condolences to you all—Carl, Lisa, Tim, Shelly, David, Todd, the grandchildren she adored, the rest of the family, and all who loved her. We will be keeping you in our thoughts during this difficult time and hope that the memories of Freda will bring you smiles through the tears in the days ahead.
With love,
Jim and Heather Macumber

Dear Carl and Family:
We found Freda to be such a beautiful person, which even shows in her posted picture.
As we were not in contact for a number of years, we were not aware of her illness, and are SO sorry for your loss.
Both of you, Carl and Freda, were given to hospitality at home and at the church. We shared visits and a meal in your home. At a chance meeting in a store some time ago, Freda gave me (Marilyn) one of Carl's smooth carved "comfort" birds which we cherish.
May you take comfort in that Freda is now in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, free from the pain and sorrows of this world. May God's peace and comfort be yours now and in the days ahead.
PS. Due to John being sick with a cold (not Covid) we regret that we will not be attending the funeral service.

To Carl and family on the passing of Freda,
a solid rock of the Bridgewater Baptist Church. Her and Carl were very dedicated and faithful members of their church. They did so much for the church and it showed in so many ways. Freda was always as busy as a bee when it came to church duties. No matter where she was needed, she was always willing and able to help. May she rest in peace.

To the Family..
What can I say about Freda? She was one of a kind...the only girl in the family of boys.
I have known Freda most of my life, having grown up in a neighbouring community and having gone to the same high school, been in the same grade, played on the same basketball and soccer teams and shared a friendship that lasted over the years. I recall when Freda worked in Halifax, and traveled on occasion home with my dad, and the time they were in a car accident together. A man ran a red light and hit my dad's small car. Freda ended up with two broken ribs, but because my father was hurt much worse, she did not do any complaining, and was more concerned about him. That was just Freda's way...kind, thoughtful and forgiving.
Freda was a great worker, and could often be found in the kitchen at the church, maybe giving orders, but getting things done. She was efficient and confident and always a help.
Freda was a gracious hostess, a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family unconditionally and was genuine and sincere. May her family find comfort and peace in the memories you shared and in knowing that she in free from pain and is with her Lord. God bless. Cora

Dear Carl and family: Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of Freda. May your memories bring you comfort. I got to know Freda when NQRH opened its doors to the students of North Queens. We shared many giggles in the stairways and hallways with Virginia, Margie and others. Sometimes we shed a few tears as well. I have fond memories. God's blessings to Freda's loved ones.
