Obituary of Kimberley "Kim" Suzanne Hare

We are saddened by the loss of our beautiful sister, but are so grateful for the light, beauty and love she brought to us and to all who knew her.

With family and her friends at her bedside, Kim passed away on September 11, 2024, after a brief illness. She would have been 65 years old this month.

Kim lived at Riverview Enhanced Living, in Dayspring, near Bridgewater. She made many friends during her time at REL, and she won’t be forgotten by those lives she touched. She had a gentle nature, a warm smile and a spirit that could light up any room. She was discerning and had a confidence in her sense of what she liked and what she didn’t.

You could often find Kim in her hallway nook at REL, near the window, and she always pulled a smile or a comment from anyone who walked by. Kim was active in the programs offered by REL and wouldn’t miss the chance to go on a day trip or group outing.

Kim was very loved by her family and will be laid to rest with her mother, Mae (nee MacLennan) and father, Sanford Hare. Left behind to hold the memories and to value the lessons Kim so generously offered are Stephen and his husband Wayne, Sandra (Cornell) and her husband Eric, and Paul and his partner, Tami. Kim is also survived by Nicola, Paula, Sanford, Christina, Emily and Eowyn, and loved ones in both the Hare and MacLennan families. Kim was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Susan Hare.

It is so important to acknowledge her family at REL as well. She had a special bond with many of the care providers and we couldn’t be more grateful for the love and kindness they gave Kim during her time there. A special thank you to Karen Croft for all the years of attention and loving Kim.

Kim had a pure heart and a kind soul. She had a magnetism about her, and we are all better for having had Kim in our lives. There will be a private burial service in Cape Breton at a later date. Donations in Kim’s memory may be made to Riverview Enhanced Living in Dayspring. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home. 35 York Street, Bridgewater where online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
