Obituary of Travis Wayne Boehner

With heavy hearts, the family of Travis Wayne Boehner, 41 of West Northfield, Nova Scotia announces his passing on September 19, 2024. Born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia on August 30, 1983 to parents Karen Whitehouse Boutilier (Neil) of East River and Wayne Boehner (Renée) of Martins River/Abu Dhabi. Travis was the loving husband of Jennifer Boehner and the proud father of their two sons, Braydon and Rylan Boehner. 

Travis lived a full and exciting life. He was a crane operator, most recently with Nodding Cranes in Bridgewater where he was largely known for his work lifting roof trusses and boats for his many loyal clients. Travis made an impact on everyone who met him, wherever he went. Travis moved to Dubai when he was 18 and then spent his twenties working in the oil and gas industry as a Well Test Operator across the globe, some of his most memorable work experiences being in Louisiana, Trinidad and Tobago, Norway, Angola and Australia. Travis loved to tell stories of his adventures, and he made friends all over the world, many whom he has stayed in contact with. 

Travis was a loyal friend to many, never hesitant to express his love and gratitude to those who meant the most to him. While at home, he loved to spend time with his cherished pets, finding comfort in cuddling up with his dog after a long day or his cat in the morning before work. Travis enjoyed taking his family boating on the lake or river and had an uncanny sense of direction throughout the trails he grew up four wheeling on. 

Along with his wife, children and parents, Travis is survived by his brother, Benjamin Boutilier, Bridgewater; sisters, Michaela Boutilier (Josh Sinclair), New Ross; Séechelle Boehner (Steve Freeman), Voglers Cove; his nan, Helen Whitehouse, Mahone Bay; uncle, Kevin Whitehouse (Tabby), Blockhouse; grandfather, Percy Whitehouse, Clearland; his “nephews” Shoden and Stefen Whitehouse and his beloved mother  and father-in-law Michelle and Ted Pretty (Coldbrook).

A celebration of life will be held on September 28, 2024, beginning at 2pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Donations in Travis’ memory may be received in the form of cash or cheque by the funeral home and will be forwarded to an account for his children. Please make cheques payable to Jennifer Boehner.
