Denise’s history of living and surviving WW11, as a member of the French Resistance in her early teen years, demonstrated her courage, fortitude, and most of all, the importance of family connection. To the best of our knowledge and research, Denise was the only Parisienne/French war bride to come to NL in 1947 with her Husband, Hubert, who was a Warrant Officer, Wireless Operator (Air) #798552. R.A.F.V.R. and Air Gunner.
Denise will be remembered for her artistic talents, her stamp/coin collection, and her love for singing, and dancing. Throughout her life, she remained strong and true to her belief system which was to live life the best way possible and treat everyone especially her family equally and unconditionally.
The family would like to give a thank you to a very special family friend, Theresa Griffin, who remained loyal and dedicated to Mom, throughout her life. As well, the family would like to acknowledge Ed (Brenda) Murphy for their family friendship, support and love.
Denise’s ashes will be laid to rest in Curling, October 13th weekend next to her husband, Hubert, with a celebration of life and details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
