Obituary of Maxine Lorraine Wentzell

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Maxine Lorraine Wentzell, 67, of Pleasantville. She passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the South Shore Regional hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Maxine was born October 3, 1957, in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Daughter of the late Donald Keizer and Vivian Silver (Mosher).

Maxine was retired and previously worked for Michelin Tire and owned her own business, One and Growing. Maxine’s pride and joy was her children, her 5 grandchildren, and 2 great- grandchildren. She always had an open house for family and friends. She touched so many hearts and lives. She will be greatly missed by so many.

Maxine is survived by her husband Tony Lohnes, Pleasantville; daughter Nichole Goguen (Daniel), Bridgewater; son Chris Wentzell (Tracy), Bridgewater; grandchildren, Breanna Constantine, New Brunswick, Logan Constantine, New Brunswick, Kayden Crawford, New Brunswick, Mya Wentzell, Bridgewater, Mason Wentzell, Bridgewater; great- grandchildren, Melody LeBlanc and Maverick Perry, New Brunswick; sisters and brother Bonita Dixon (Paul), Halifax, Margo Keizer, Mahone Bay, Barry Keizer, New Brunswick, Trina Keizer, Tantallon, Bridgette Keizer, Alberta; nieces, Cheri Delaney-Young (Mark), Bridgewater, Jillian Dixon – Stiles (Nathan), Halifax, Jennifer Dixon (Shawn) & (Lottie), Halifax; cousins Denise Printz (Bill), Angelique Bastian (Dana), Bridgewater, Michelle Gillespie (Stuart), Riverport, Charmaine Smicer (Paul), Riverport; Heather Power, Maitland, Vandelea Creaser (Danny), Italy Cross; step-mothers, Majorie Keizer, Tantallon, Virgina Dunn, Bridgewater; numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her stepfather Fred Silver, Bridgewater.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Family and friends of Maxine’s are invited to visitation on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Sweeny’s Chapel, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Sweeny’s Chapel, Bridgewater. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Family and friends are invited to a reception following the service at Sweeny’s to celebrate Maxine’s life. At 1:00 p.m., burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
