Obituary of Lowell LeRoy Getson

Lowell LeRoy Getson Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in LaHave, he was a son of the late Harris and Ruey (Barkhouse) Getson. He was owner and operator of Canadian Tire Corporation, Windsor, NS and then later operated B &L Groceries, LaHave for many years. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Merchant Marines. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth “Betty” Connolly; daughters, Janice (Wade) Wamback, West LaHave; Martha (Eric) Dolliver, Blockhouse; sons, Richard “Ricky” Getson (Karen Wentzell), Petite Riviere; William “Billy” (Ella Mae) Getson, Pleasantville; 10 grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Wambach, Bridgewater. Visitation, 7-9 p.m. Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Burial to follow in Fort Point Cemetery, LaHave.
