Obituary of Donna Faye Myers-Rafuse
Myers-Rafuse, Donna Faye of Chester, Lunenburg Co, was welcomed in the Kingdom of God leaving her earthly body behind on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Born September 28, 1953, in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Hollis and Georgina (Geddes) Myers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Donna, a devote daughter of Christ attended Acadia University where she both earned her Bachelor of Education and met her husband Maxwell, whom she married December 20, 1980. Donna worked in education teaching both in private and public schools in Quebec and Nova Scotia. Her passions however laid in Christian education and music often combining those passions. Donna was an accomplished pianist performing and teaching piano lessons to the young and young at heart. Donna was a Christian education leader teaching Sunday School and serving God. She was a member of Chester United Baptist Church where she served most recently as church clerk. Her later years she spent loving and laughing with her three granddaughters whom she cherished.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Gerald (Donna) Myers, sister, Marlene and Marlene’s husband Everett Dunfield. She leaves behind on earth to wait, her husband of almost 44 years Maxwell; daughter Stephanie (Tyler) Veinotte; granddaughters, Autumn, Adalind, Avangaline; sister-in-law Donna Myers, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Donna’s family would like to thank the staff of South Shore Regional Hospital for her care in her last days and a big thank you to Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, ambulatory care unit for the wonderful above and beyond care over the past few years.
Donna was always kind, thoughtful, and giving. She was sure to donate acts of service as well as financially to many charities close to her heart. In Lieu of flowers we encourage you to make a donation to a charity close to your own heart. Donna’s celebration of life to be held in the summer.
