Obituary of Merle Aileen Hardy

Merle Aileen Hardy 79, Bridgewater passed away March 24, 2009 at the Cedarstone Enhanced Care Facility, Truro. Born on Tancook Island, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Bertha (Mason) Baker. She had a great passion for gardening and dancing. She was a member of the Martins River Garden Club and a longtime member of the South Shore Singles Club. She is survived by her son, Darrell (Colleen), Lower Sackville; daughter Marina Zwicker, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Christopher, Peter, Crystal, Clayton, Nicole and Mark; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Earl (Debbie) Baker, Tancook Island; Carroll “Carl” (Monique), Cumberland, Ont. She was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd and Vincent. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and from where a memorial service will be held 1:30pm Friday, Rev Eric Campbell officiating. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
